Habitats

Fish habitats support the state's fisheries. We manage and safeguard these vital habitats by protecting marine plants and fish passage and assessment of development applications.

On 25 May 2012, responsibility for declared Fish Habitat Areas (FHAs) moved to the Department of National Parks, Recreation, Sport and Racing, however, development applications in declared FHAs are still being processed by Fisheries Queensland.
