Research and innovation

Our research focuses on key areas that build a sustainable forestry industry, reflect the needs of local and regional communities and a thriving environment, and stimulate private investment.

In support of Queensland's $4 billion forestry and processing industries, our research focus is:

  • improving forest productivity, carbon balance and wood quality for a changing climate
  • developing sustainable support systems for managing and protecting forests
  • developing new wood products, and wood protection and processing systems
